{{in the late afternoon}} December 17th, 2004 › Wordpress v1.2.2 released

Nice to see another small update to wordpress - hopefully fixing the login issues that some users have been seeing.

An updated ebuild can be found here which should make it into the gentoo cvs this evening - many thanks go to photomatt for providing a versioned download file for us gentoo users - may the counting begin!

{{in the early morning}} October 7th, 2004 › Wordpress v1.2.1 Released

Wordpress v1.2.1 has been released and this site has now been updated.

Updating was achieve using the ebuild now attached to the security bug in the gentoo bugzilla, and webapp-config performed as expected and merged in my changes to the colourscheme sucessfully.

Hmm.. Yes Richard it seems the stylesheet did get reverted. Doing a diff between the old and new isn’t fun. gnu diff just see’s the changes as one big remove of the old and insert of the new!

{{in the late evening}} June 10th, 2004 › Busy Evening

Had a busy evening creating and testing ebuilds this evening.
Added an ebuild for wordpress-1.2 and updated an ebuild for drupal to use webapp.eclass.

Now i just have to see how smooth the upgrade is from wordpress-1.0.2 to wordpress-1.2

{{mid-morning}} May 31st, 2004 › IRC Log for #gentoo-uk on irc.freenode.net, collected by westi|LogBot

I’ve been playing around with LogBot today trying to create a ebuild for it. The ebuild is nearly finished and i’ll post my handiwork soon. For now I currently have it running on #gentoo-uk monitoring the silence there!

You can see the logs it produces here:

LogBot’s not been running for months now, I’m taking these logs offline - they seem to be what half my incoming searches are on ;)

{{in the early evening}} May 12th, 2004 › Gentoo ebuild

The webapp-config dependancy allows for multiple instances of a web application like wordpress to be installed on a single server by the admin without duplicating the non-configurable. The aim, as far as i understand, is to extend this with a vhost-config tool which will enable the easy configuartion of virtual hosts under gentoo.
For more info on webapp-config see the authors blog.

{{around lunchtime}} May 10th, 2004 › mod_mono

Sucessfully got mod_mono up and running over the weekend using the ebuilds for mod_mono and xsp from bugzilla. All works fine as long as you don’t use latest mono ebuild as then the scripts don’t run - works fine with 0.31 but not with 0.91.

You can see the test stuff in action here maybe when i get some .NET stuff done for work i’ll test it out here too!
